Philip Haywood

Bio

Coach Haywood was the head football coach at Belfry for 40 years. Unfortunately, he passed away from injuries sustained from a car accident on January 22, 2025. He will forever be our Head Coach. During his tenure, the Pirates have won 408 games, earned 14 title game appearances, and brought home 8 state championships.

Philip is Kentucky’s All-Time Winning-est Coach with 491 wins. His mantra “Get a little better each day” and good things will happen for you.
